Het uploaden van je hersenen naar de cloud? Het eeuwige leven in een metaverse? Dromen we niet allemaal van een oneindig leven? Transhumans leven naar deze sci-fi visioenen. Transhumanisme verwijst naar een filosofische stroming die streeft naar een radicale verbetering van de menselijke conditie met uiterst geavanceerde technologieën om een verbeterde versie van homo sapiens te bereiken. Terwijl het transhumanisme wordt geassocieerd met een kleine\, bevoorrechte groep technische ondernemers die zich bezighouden met geavanceerde cryonics en (doe-het-zelf) upgrading van hun lichaam en geest\, is het posthumanisme een meer feministische inspanning\, met een minder mensgerichte positie. Het begint vanuit een perspectief dat we technologie kunnen gebruiken om meer te leren en te interageren met andere soorten als onderdeel van de leefomgeving. Hoe kunnen we menselijke technologieën gebruiken om betere connecties te creëren met onze omgeving en andere soorten? Deze brede reikwijdte en onbegrensde visie op het verbonden zijn  met de wereld en het universum waarin we leven\, overstijgt ook de typische postkapitalistische zoektocht naar het individu\, in plaats van het collectief te omarmen als een nieuwe bron van samen leven en sterven. Hoe ziet de toekomst van het posthumanisme eruit? \nSTRP en (IM)POSSIBLE BODIES werken samen aan toekomstscenario’s voor cyborgs\, trans-\, en posthumanisme tijdens een online evenement op 29 oktober 2020. \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Met: \nJohanna Bruckner\nRoanne van Voorst\nMarcel van Brakel\nIris van der Tuin\nAnnemarie Wisse \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Johanna Bruckner\nJohanna Bruckner was born in Vienna in 1984 and is an artist based in Zurich. Her work was shown internationally\, most recently at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt\, the LUMA Westbau\, Zürich\, the 57th Venice Biennial; KW Institute for Contemporary Art\, Berlin; Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst\, Zürich; ZKM\, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien\, Karlsruhe; Kunsthaus Hamburg; the transmediale 2020; Haus der Kulturen der Welt\, Berlin; CAC\, Centre Art Contemporain Geneve\, the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale\, the Galerie EIGEN+ART Lab\, the Deichtorhallen\, Sammlung Falckenberg\, Hamburg\, and will soon be shown at Biennale Mediterranea. She is currently a fellow at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome\, and will be a fellow at the Jan van Eyck Academie in 2021. She received the 2020 recognition award for Fine Arts of Lower Austria.  \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Roanne van Voorst\nRoanne van Voorst is onderzoeker (Ph.D.)\, schrijver\, (Tedx)spreker en moderator. Als ‘antropologe van de toekomst’ richt haar kernonderzoek zich op wat zij ‘duurzame menselijkheid’ noemt: wat maakt ons in tijden van robotisering menselijk? Hoe kunnen we in een tijdperk dat wordt gekenmerkt door klimaatveranderingen en nepnieuws\, hoopvol en empathisch blijven? Hoe zullen we in de nabije toekomst leven\, liefhebben en leven? \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Marcel van Brakel\, Polymorf\nMarcel van Brakel is a founder and lead designer at Polymorf\, an interdisciplinary Dutch experience design collective. He also works as an independent artist\, writer\, librettist\, and film and theatre director. His critical projects and artistic research on immersive storytelling and embodiment often incorporate emerging technologies\, multisensory design\, and performativity. His body of work reflects on the now\, the (post)human condition\, and the shifting relationships between humans\, technology and ecology\, and ranges from interactive performances\, music theatre\, operas\, VRexperiences\, speculative designs\, brain-hacking projects\, multisensory art installations\, and interactive art installations. Marcel is fellow at the Sundance Institute and senior lecturer of immersive storytelling\, transmedia storytelling\, speculative design\, and performativity at the Avans University for Applied Sciences in Breda. He was one of the lead designers of the award-winning multisensory installation FamousDeaths and co-author of the Sense of Smell publication. His work was shown on international festivals and exhibitions such as Hong Kong ArtsCentre\, IDFA DocLab\, FILE\, Tech Open Air\, SXSW\, Tribeca Film Festival\, FOSTGallery\, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum\, the Van Gogh Museum\, Playgrounds\, and the STRP Festival.  \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Iris van der Tuin\nIris van der Tuin is hoogleraar cultuurtheorie aan de Universiteit Utrecht (vakgroep Filosofie en Religiewetenschappen). Zij is tevens directeur van de School of Liberal Arts en programmadirecteur van de interdisciplinaire bacheloropleiding Liberal Arts and Sciences. Opgeleid als feministisch epistemoloog en werkzaam als interdisciplinair\, is zij gespecialiseerd in genderstudies en nieuwe materialismen (met name met betrekking tot de geesteswetenschappelijke wetenschap die ‘de twee culturen’ doorkruist).  \n\n\n					\n				\n					\n						\n\n					\n				\n					\n						Annemarie Wisse\nAnnemarie Wisse studeerde in 1994 af aan de Amsterdamse Toneelschool. Ze speelde bij verschillende theatergezelschappen en voor televisie. Ze is gespecialiseerd in presentatietechnieken en is senior communicatietrainer.
