Johanna Bucker - Molecular Sex

Will the future bring a toxic breakdown of the human being? Or are we becoming cyborgs in order to better comprehend the world? Johanna Bruckner sees the cyborg as a hybridization of the human and nonhuman. Her video installation shows entanglements of human, animal, technology, sex, and atmosphere in which molecularization shapes a networked world. In the video a fictitious sex bot is pushing the limits of the human sensorium. It evokes plastic as a chemical substance impacting biological life and it invents technological prostheses that redistribute relations between subjects, thus changing the way we comprehend the world.
