Paul Segers - Future Artifacts The Perfect Crime

With his series of Future Artifacts, Paul Segers incorporates various ideas in sculptures that suggest ‘future’ developments that are practically already in motion. For this third series Segers conceived and executed six drone sculptures as objects that can be found in a distant future and, like real artifacts, tell something about the era in which we live now. The way we look back on some of our historical endeavours is very different than we saw them in the time they were actually happening. These sculptures suggest that time to think and reflect is of the essence in our high-velocity times. The fossilized, transformed and evocative forms are no longer purely technological objects, but acquire a physical quality. And they are the tangible proof that all technology is in fact an extension of our bodies.
